Enterprise Solutions (ES) supports Crowe personnel on a firmwide level by providing financial services (financial reporting, billing systems and reporting, facilities management) and information services (audit and tax technology, process and solutions engineering, technical services), as well as office operations services on a local, day-to-day basis.



Responsibilities:

 

SUMMARY

Develop, manage, and maintain the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Internet, wireless, voice communications, and data communications hardware and supporting operations related processes required to meet the organization’s information needs.  This includes playing a key role in the design of the technical architecture, as well as the evaluation, selection, procurement, implementation and day-to-day support and operation of the various computing and communication platforms on which the organization’s applications are run.  In addition, this role holds primary responsibility for managing  staff of dedicated personnel and any third-party suppliers of both hardware and services related to these areas of operation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage teams, including any contractors or outsourced functions, to ensure that supported systems are installed, operated, monitored, maintained, and recoverable in such a manner that the organization’s computing needs are met without compromising overall data security and with minimal disruption to the business.  Manage teams to ensure all service-related issues (e.g., operating systems, malfunctioning hardware and software, client questions) are resolved according to the standards defined in the established service level agreements and such that the client’s needs are met.  Team members will perform and/or manage the intake, diagnostic, prioritization, execution, implementation and resolution processes, as well as maintain the proper level of communication with the client and other IS staff involved in the resolution of the issue or task.  This requires availability during non-business hours.
  • In conjunction with other IS functional groups, manage and play a key role in the determination of LAN, WAN, Internet, wireless, and telecommunication hardware and operating system infrastructure requirements and specifications.  Proactively identify opportunities for both process, organizational, and infrastructure improvements and make recommendations to management.  Determine and recommend the timing of required upgrades to LAN, WAN, Internet, wireless, and telecommunication operating system software, coordinate and/or perform the implementation of upgrades, and install new systems.  Responsible for the management and maintenance of inventory for all LAN, WAN, Internet, wireless and telecommunication related hardware, software and appropriate licenses. Manages replacement cycles for this equipment. In conjunction with IS Administration, team members reporting to this individual are responsible for ordering, installing, and maintaining LAN, WAN, Internet, wireless and telecommunication software, technical training, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform general and departmental managerial responsibilities.  Coach and mentor team members, and other IS staff.  Perform and/or assist with performance management, compensation, and career development activities for directly supervised staff.  Contribute to the preparation of annual spending budgets and establishing strategic goals for the DU.  Set the tactical goals and objectives for the department and each team member.  Manage expenses and capital budgets as they relate to projects and operations under management, including invoice review and cost allocations.
  • In conjunction with the Director, Client Service and Infrastructure and the CIO, assist with creation and maintenance of service level agreements.  Ensure that they are developed in conjunction with clients, other IS functional heads, and third party providers.  Monitor performance against such agreements and initiate improvement plans where appropriate.  Develop tracking methods and monitor day-to-day performance of operating system, hardware, and support applications where applicable.  Develop and utilize analytical tools to assist monitoring and tracking systems.
  • Assist with the negotiation of contracts/agreements and management of relationships with vendors, third party providers, and consultants for applicable services and products.  Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist with the implementation plans for their achievement. Contribute to the efforts of Firm-wide Real Estate to ensure that leases address key telecommunications / network related needs.
  • Investigate and stay abreast of technical and practical industry information related to delivery of operating system, hardware, and infrastructure services. Recommend and institute best practices as appropriate.


Qualifications:

MINIMUM TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with large, multi-office LAN, WAN, Internet, wireless and Telecommunications technical environments in a support and design role.
  • Experience installing and managing VoIP telephony systems.
  • Strong people and project management skills, including direct supervision of a staff of direct reports and experience managing third-parties.
  • Strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to deliver on SLAs.
  • Highly effective communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • High tolerance for stress and ability to manage others in such an environment.
  • Experience establishing both strategic and tactical goals to drive results.
  • Excellent analytical skills, a detail orientation, and strong decision making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive and simultaneous job demands in an organized and results-oriented manner.

 

EDUCATIONAL & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8 years work experience supporting a multi-site data communications network.
  • Microsoft Exchange experience desired.
  • Cisco certification a plus.
  • Avaya telephony experience desired.
  • Experience implementing unified communications platforms a plus.
