Responsibilities:

Your role will include managing, coordinating and overseeing State and Local Income Franchise tax work as part of our San Francisco State and Local Tax team.  It is anticipated that this position will help generate and uncover SALT opportunities within existing office clients as well as coordinate, oversee and support state tax compliance efforts for our clients.  You will be expected to manage client relationships, multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Manage, direct and monitor multiple client engagements as well as serve as a business advisor to the client.
  • Formulate and deliver innovative tax planning and tax savings strategies.
  • Research and consult on complex tax matters.
  • Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills

Qualifications

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
  • CPA  or JD/LLM required
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience with State and Local Tax consulting, preferably with a Top 10 National firm or a large Regional firm including demonstrated business development skills within that environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing a SALT practice.
  • Excellent tax technical, organizational, project management and communication skills
