Position Summary

This position is responsible for researching, monitoring, processing, renewing, and maintaining records for CPA firm business registrations in nearly 200 jurisdictions where Crowe Horwath LLP and related entities serve clients.  The position is also responsible for assisting CPA candidates in obtaining exam study material through preferred vendor programs, for assisting newly eligible candidates with the CPA licensing application process, and for processing CPA licensee industry memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and State Society of Certified Public Accountants in the respective states.  The individual will also be required to develop a deep understanding of firm policies required to consult with client-facing professionals to carry out role responsibilities.  A variety of other CPA licensing and continuing professional education administrative support activities will be required.  The person in this role will be required to maintain highly confidential firm and personal employee related information.  The preferred candidate will have experience researching and interpreting regulatory rules and laws.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to navigate and comprehend Secretary of State websites and registration processes
  • Comprehend and administrator of firm policies related to CPA candidate material and exam benefits and CPA licensing requirements
  • Ability to maintain confidential firm employee information
  • Ability to effectively research and comprehend State Laws, Board of Accountancy Rules and Regulations, and synthesis and report data
  • Ability to effectively research and comprehend various industry membership requirements
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, firm professionals, membership organizations, and State Board of Accountancy staffs
  • Provide exceptional support to firm CPAs and CPA candidates seeking CPA license and membership assistance
  • Organize and accurately process appropriate applications on the expected timeline for a variety of memberships and licenses
  • Effective time management

  • Provide support to the Licensing and Compliance team on special research and integration projects

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in a related role in an accounting firm or the legal field preferred.
  • Associates degree in business administration or Paralegal Certificate

  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude to quickly learn new software programs
  • MS Office Outlook, Skype, SharePoint, Cognos, SAP
  • Above average Excel skills analyzing large amounts of data that include the use of concatenate, text, vlookup, and pivot tables
  • Ability to work overtime as needed during peak seasons
